Cyril G. Baucke, Jr. of Grover Beach, California, died on June 2, 2014.
He was born and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Kansas State
University earning degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.
After WWII he enlisted into the Navy where he spent time in China, Japan, and
many other South Pacific Ports. After his Navy tour of duty he met his future wife,
Martha Lash. After 51 years of marriage he lost her to a rare lung disease.
His interests have varied over the years. He was an amateur radio operator. He spent many hours flying
and building model airplanes. He was a Boy Scout leader camping and hiking the Sierras. He loved golfing,
dancing and listening to jazz and Big Band music.
He was an avid gardener, growing geraniums was his passion.

He resided as president of the International Geranium Society for several years. He also was the President
of the Widowed Persons Association of California (WPAC). He also was a member of the Camino Investment
Club, the Five Cities Retired Active Men's Club. He attended the Saint John's Lutheran Church in Arroyo Grande.
Over the last ten years he has had a fabulous woman, Elvira Gomes of Arroyo Grande at his side. They traveled
together and attended many social events together and were inseparable.
Cyril is survived by his four children, Cynthia Davis of San Jose, John M. Baucke of Santa Barbara, Howard Baucke
of Trabuco Canyon, Neil Baucke of Temecula and his five grandchildren, Stephanie, Jenna, Danielle, Ian, and
Cyril was preceded in death by his wife Martha Baucke, his brother Thomas Baucke and his parents.
