WORDS FROM CLAUDIA WAGEMANN –

HOST FOR THE MONARCH BUTTERFLY GROVE TOUR

Looking forward to the Geranium Society visit in 2 weeks. I walked over there from my cottage

today at about 2:30. It was a very busy place. With lots of butterflies gliding around.

Can folks RSVP so I know how many scones? Redaffodil@yahoo.com?

Monarch Butterfly Grove and Geranium Society Meeting Pismo Beach off Hwy 1

Saturday, January 27       2 – 4 or 5pm

                          3pm Tea & Meeting at Claudia’s Cottage

823 North First Street      Grover Beach

Points to consider:

PARKING is only along Hwy 1 or if on Front St. you have to walk across the tracks and Hiway 1.

Crowds arrive early. Geranium Society members are welcome to park at my cottage and walk 1

block downhill, across Front Street and the railroad tracks (a little rocky and high stepping over

the tracks), and then across Hwy 1. It takes less than 5 minutes if no train is zipping thru. The walk

back is up that little hill.

If you park on Hwy 1, to get to my cottage from the Butterfly Grove: Drive SOUTH on Hwy 1 back to

West Grand, LEFT on to West Grand, LEFT on to 4th, LEFT on to Ocean View, down the hill,

RIGHT at 1st Street. ~ 12 minutes.

TIMING: Plan to arrive at the grove before 2. The program starts at the group of benches in a

rectangle. After the talk folks walk around to enjoy the butterflies. Looking thru the scopes is a real treat.

TEA & MEETING: 3ish   Carol Jeanson and I are delighted to prepare a little tea (coffee & champagne

also) for the group to enjoy on my patio if warm or inside if not. One never knows the weather in Grover.

If one has seen the butterflies recently you are welcome to stay at my cottage until the group returns

around 3 or so.

MY YARD: Please do not expect an amazing geranium-filled garden. I just do the best I can….

Maybe the daffodils will be up…

Looking forward to seeing you all.
